Puchong Hill Trekking

It was a rainy morning on Saturday, 31 March 2012. Despite the heavy rain the morning before, it rained again.

As you can see, our qigong members are determined once they have set their mind for trekking.

Even the rain did not dampen their intention to trek.

Obviously, they were donning raincoats and carrying umbrellas, save KC who is pro already … :-)

The team started the trekking at 8:00 a.m. and successfully completed the whole loop in two hours. Grace, who is also her maiden trekking attempt, tripped a few times on the slippery ground.

At the highest point of Puchong Hill.

Outing At FRIM, Kepong

Thank you KC for leading the team for an exciting outing at FRIM, Kepong. A convoy of 4 cars lead by KC arrived at about 07:30am. Without much delay KC lead the team of 19 to the starting point at Rover Track, with the youngest Ng Yue Shin at 6 years old while the eldest Soo Laoshi at 73. At the starting point, KC brief everyone on the do’s and don’ts about treking as everyone had little or zero experience about jungle treking.

Starting point at Rover Track

After identifying each others treking buddies, everyone trek at their own pace and generally everyone were not far from each others along the trail.Further down this trails, KC lead the team to Canopy Walk trail. The team manage to stop for a group photo prior ascending.

A group photo before ascending Canopy Walk Trail

The leader of the pack ascending Canopy Walk Trail to the canopy walkway at about 500m ahead.

Leader of the pack

At about 300m, everyone took a rest at the rest station where benches were built for the convenience of trekker.

The Rest Station, 300m

At about 08:30am the group had reached 500m at the station for Canopy Walkway. Unfortunately the members were not able to experience the Canopywalk as the station will only open to public access at 09:30am. Another photo for the album before the team proceed ahead heading down hill.

Canopy Walkway Station, 500m

KC lead the team decending Canopy Walkway Trail. It was down hill all the way (it’s much tougher going downhill than climbing) till the team reaches a stream (Sungei Kroh) at the foothill. The team were back on Rover Track where it’s terrain were generally levelled with slight slopes along the trail. As the team proceed forward, they encounterd many others trekker alike and mountain biker plying along this trail.

Back on Rover Track

Finally by about 09:30am the team reach the end of Rover Track. KC proposed to trek to Taman Botani Kepong, passing by a scenic lake and returned via Mountain Bike Trail.

End of Rover Track

Before the team proceed to Taman Botani, the team stop by at Malay Tea House for those who want to visit the loo.

KC lead the team to Taman Botani Kepong, passing by the scenic lake, and returned via Mountain Bike Trail. By 11:30am the team were back at the club house and proceed to view the Kapur tree.

The Ladies at the Taman Botani

The tall Kapur Trees are considered as wonder of nature, whose leaves are set with boundaries that never to touch another tree of the same species. Many of us were awe-struck by it’s formation and pattern and no doubt is a beauty and wonder of nature.

The Magnificent Kapur Tree

Awe-Struck

Noon, it was all over and the team were back to their cars. The team adjourn to Batu Caves for lunch but unfortunately KC & Co could not join as he had prior engagement later that afternoon.

As KC had suggested, probably Jinjang Center could consider organising PSZQM monthly group practice at FRIM for a change. So Mr President, Liow Laoshi…. the ball is in your court now.

Other related article can be view here and more photo here.

A sincere thank you from the team members to “KC the sunshine runner” for the effort in organising and a wonderful weekend outing for all.
